Shireen Issa

Shireen Issa is Emani’s Chief Operating Officer and directs Emani’s research under XCEPT. For 16 years, she led monitoring, impact evaluation and research projects across continents, especially in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, and Mozambique. She has worked on diverse topics, from monitoring rehabilitation response in the aftermath of Pakistan’s 2005 earthquake in Kashmir to evaluation of social and behaviour change in the realms of migration, trafficking in persons, and countering violent extremism. She holds a Master’s in international social work and administration from Columbia University.
