Frontier Myanmar

Frontier Myanmar is an award-winning news magazine covering Myanmar. Since its founding in Yangon in 2015, it has earned a reputation for quality, impartial journalism in a difficult working environment. Despite the existential challenges posed by the February 2021 military coup, it continues to deliver in-depth reports from all corners of the country, making space for overlooked voices and issues and reporting the uncensored truth.

Frontier’s staff is overwhelmingly national and it is an important training ground for young Myanmar journalists. Its reporting has been recognised every year since 2017 by the Society of Publishers in Asia, the region’s most prestigious media awards, and the publication remains an important independent voice in the country’s media landscape.
